River Rat Poker Running
The Colorado River Medical Center Needles River Rat Off-Road Poker Run is presented by the Needles Chamber of Commerce. The event will feature a full day of off-road driving for UTVs, Jeeps, pre-runners, and more, followed by an afterparty with food vendors and live entertainment at Jack Smith Park. The Cumberland River Poker Run will be on Aug. 18 at the McGregor Park Riverwalk, and all boats are invited. River Rat Marine and Restoration LLC is hosting the poker run.

*The poker run was a 100% payout- paid top three hands. We talked about making it down to top five hands for next year. I am sorry, but my pictures are washed out BAD! Everyone looks like they have third degree burns. Should have read the instructions for the camera. These are the only ones I could salvage from a bad lot. The official tote sheet.
*The MR340 is a non-stop 340 mile race along the lower Missouri River, between Kansas City and St. Canoeists, kayakers and stand-up paddlers take part in this race that is known as the world’s longest non-stop paddling race. The 2021 MR340 race is scheduled for July 20th through July 23rd. Participants must complete the race in 84 hours.
Take a guided, scenic ride through the Potomac River Valley with stops at regional parks to draw cards or draw your hand at registration.Cash prizes for top 3 hands based on the number of entries.$10 donation per entry.Registration 10:00am – 12:00pm, guided rides leave around 11:00 and Noon. Rides are approximately 2 hours. Entries must be returned by 3:00 PM. Winner announced by 3:00 PM. Poker runs on the water are similar to poker runs on dry land. You’re probably familiar with a standard poker run, where people take off on motorcycles. These runs have between five and seven checkpoints. The driver receives a poker card at each stop. Some of the stops have entertainment and other fun for the drivers, as well.

A poker run on the water is just the same, only instead of pavement, you get to enjoy the waves. You will get to do a little sightseeing on the water while you move from one checkpoint to the next. When you finally get to your last checkpoint, you’ll get your final card. Then, the organizers will declare a winner.

So, you don’t have a boat and don’t really feel like renting one. You don’t want to go out and collect cards, but you would still like to be part of the fun. That’s no problem.
